About the company:
- Everyone’s searched Reddit for health answers their doctor didn’t have. Atlas is building a new platform to help patients with chronic health conditions discover the treatments and protocols that actually work. Millions of patients are left to figure these conditions out on their own. We’re changing that.
TLDR:
- We're looking for a remote engineer: a full-stack, AI-native builder who will co-own the technical foundation from day zero, working directly with the founder to ship the product.
Why this is special:
- We're solving one of the biggest problems in human health. Over 100 million Americans live with chronic conditions that have no approved treatments. This is a chance to build something meaningful, not another B2B SaaS company.
- The hard parts are derisked. Well-funded by top Silicon Valley investors. Led by a repeat founder with multiple exits. We move fast because we've done this before.
- You're not joining a team, you're building one. This is a day-zero founding role with massive career upside. The kind of work where you look back in five years and say "I built that”.
- This is a role with significant equity and room to grow into a larger leadership position as the company scales.
The right candidate will:
- Co-own the product from day one. You'll be a true thought partner to the founder, deeply debating the problems we're solving, the jobs to be done, and how to build it right. You'll translate vision into technical requirements, push back when something doesn't make sense, and co-define what we're building. This is not a ticket-taking role.
- Architect the technical foundation that the rest of the product gets built on top of. You're laying the groundwork the rest of the engineering team will inherit.
- Build across the full stack: spin up scalable backend systems, stand up the applied AI pipeline, and ship a scrappy consumer-facing web app.
- Have strong product intuition. You know what great looks like, and you have good taste for what consumers want.
Who we're looking for:
🧠 As a human, you're...
- not a jerk.
- can overlap with SF working hours as much as possible
- interested in health, longevity, and/or biohacking.
- self-starter. You like to build and iterate quickly.
- not paralyzed by risk, but energized by asking “what if it works”.
🖥️ As an engineer, you have...
- 8+ years of experience building and shipping scalable consumer products across the full stack.
- full-stack ability with a backend lean. You can architect APIs, data pipelines, and platform infrastructure, but you can also put a product in front of real users.
- Pre-Series B startup experience, you're comfortable with the chaos and ambiguity that comes with early-stage.
- Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, AI-powered features, and standing up early AI infrastructure.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, React, Python, and the broader AI-native toolchain. This is not a role for someone whose primary experience is in .NET, C#, or legacy enterprise stacks.
if you're looking for a Monday-Friday schedule, this isn't the right fit. We're building something that will genuinely change people's lives, and we work like it. That means high ownership, occasional late nights, and yes, some weekends. We're not a 996 company and we don't glorify burnout, but the team generally works at least one weekend day and you should be comfortable responding on Slack or pushing code
