Software Engineer (Senior/Staff)

About the Role:

One of our clients is looking for an elite-level Full Stack Product Engineer to help build and scale a next-generation AI-driven workforce platform. This is a high-impact founding team opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and can take ownership of products from concept to scale. The ideal candidate will have strong full stack engineering expertise, startup experience, and the ability to build scalable systems that support real-world operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of both frontend and backend applications

• Architect and build scalable web and mobile applications, distributed systems, and APIs

• Develop core systems including real-time job matching algorithms and AI-powered worker vetting pipelines

• Work closely with product and design teams to deliver seamless UI/UX experiences

• Establish engineering best practices for scalability, performance, and code reusability

• Implement monitoring systems to track application health, performance, and user experience

• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and long-term platform scalability

• Mentor engineers and help build a strong engineering culture within the founding team

Requirements:

• 5 - 10 years of experience as a software engineer owning products end- to- end in early- stage engineering teams

• Proven track record working with high-performing and high-caliber teams

• Strong fundamentals across both frontend and backend technologies including Typescript/Javascript, React/React Native, and Node.js or Python

• Demonstrated track record owning features and products from 0 to 1 or 1 to 10 in early- stage start- up environments and with tangible business results

• Strong understanding of scalable system architecture, APIs, and distributed systems

• Ability to balance fast iteration with building reliable and rigorous systems, especially around sensitive workflows

• High ownership mindset with the ability to drive real business impact in fluid, fast-moving environments

• Comfortable working in high-intensity startup environments and collaborating closely with ambitious teams

• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

• Excited to be a founding member of the San Francisco office and work fully in-person

Ideal Candidate:

• Has experience with matching or recommendation systems such as marketplaces or platform-based products

• Has worked on multi-sided platforms, recruiting platforms, or operational workflow systems

• Understands industries such as logistics, supply chain, staffing, or healthcare technology

• Has experience with companies or products similar to Uber, Instacart, Deel, Rippling, Mercor, Micro1, or Ribbon.ai

• Holds a Computer Science or other technical degree from a top 25 university

Location:

The role is based in San Francisco, and the client is primarily looking for candidates open to working fully in-person as part of the founding team.
