Senior Software Engineer (Web technologies)

8 month remote contract

Job Description

• Propose software architecture design
• Complete code reviews
• Write code for new features and enhancements
• Compile and debug applications and programs
• Develop automated test programs
• Perform software tests
• Compile information for and write portions of technical reports and program documentation
• Gather and write requirements
• Assist in the maintenance of the existing code base

Responsibilities

• Perform software development tasks for simple systems or segments of large complex systems using a standard set of software engineering practices, development tools, equipment, and technologies.

Education / Certifications

• Post‑secondary education in a computer science related program (Diploma or BSc preferred)

Required Skills and Experience

• Detailed knowledge of Web technologies (HTML, XML, XSDs, JavaScript / TypeScript)
• Detailed knowledge of C#
• Experience with MAUI for mobile native app development
• Experience with Git source control
• Experience with Microsoft Entity Framework
• Experience with Microsoft Blazor
• Experience with Bootstrap
• Experience with database technologies (SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Entity Framework, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 or 2026 in a TFS environment, including source control
• Experience in requirements writing
• Experience with automated unit testing, test case design and debugging
• Experience performing and responding to code reviews
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2022 / 2025 and Windows 11 development environments
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle

Optional / Asset Skills

• iOS and/or Android development outside the MAUI framework
• C++ and MFC
• Regular expressions
• PowerShell scripting
• Service‑Oriented Architecture
• Agile development environments
• Windows‑based servers in VM environments
• Knowledge of Internet protocols, firewalls, VPNs and general communications programming
• Experience working in secure environments
