UI/UX Consultant (Kiosk Applications)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Consultant to join our team and lead the design and enhancement of applications for kiosk interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating intuitive and engaging user experiences for kiosk platforms, ensuring seamless interaction and accessibility for a diverse range of users. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of user behavior to deliver outstanding kiosk applications that meet both business objectives and user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- User Research and Analysis:
- Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of kiosk users.
- Analyze user feedback and data to inform design decisions and improve user experience.
- Develop user personas, journey maps, and usability testing plans specific to kiosk interactions.
- UI/UX Design:
- Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for kiosk applications, considering the unique challenges and opportunities of kiosk environments.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that clearly communicate design ideas and user flows.
- Ensure designs are accessible and comply with relevant accessibility standards and guidelines.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure the design vision is effectively implemented and aligns with business goals.
- Present design concepts and rationales to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and iterating as necessary.
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure technical feasibility and smooth implementation of designs.
- Usability Testing and Iteration:
- Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to gather feedback on kiosk interfaces.
- Analyze test results and user feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Iterate on designs based on usability testing outcomes and evolving user needs.
- Industry Trends and Best Practices:
- Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in UI/UX design, particularly for kiosk applications.
- Apply industry standards and innovative design techniques to enhance the overall user experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a UI/UX Designer, with a significant focus on designing for kiosk applications.
- Strong portfolio showcasing design projects, specifically highlighting kiosk interfaces and user interactions.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field.
- Experience working on projects involving interactive displays, touchscreens, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of the technical aspects of kiosk hardware and software integration.
- Prior experience in a consulting or client-facing role.
