About the Role

Astra Health is reimagining healthcare technology by building scalable, AI-powered solutions that connect patients, providers, and data seamlessly. We’re looking for a Technical Lead / Senior Software Engineer to define our technology roadmap, lead engineering teams, and drive innovation at the intersection of AI, healthcare, and cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Be a hands-on technical leader, actively contributing to full-stack development while guiding cloud infrastructure and AI engineering teams
• Support the development and execution of the technology strategy & roadmap in alignment with business goals
• Build and scale SaaS products with a customer-first mindset, ensuring reliability, usability, and speed of delivery
• Oversee agentic AI systems, custom data pipelines, and RAG workflows for advanced product capabilities
• Manage and optimize secure, reliable AWS/Azure serverless architectures in a fast-moving startup environment
• Ensure compliance with healthcare technology standards (HIPAA, ISO27001, FHIR, EHR/EMR connectivity)
• Collaborate closely with leadership and product teams on new features, tight timelines, and go-to-market initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years in technology development & engineering, ideally within SaaS product companies or startups
• Bachelor of Engineering in IT or Computer Science from a reputed institution
• Strong hands-on full-stack expertise: Next.js, TypeScript, Python/Django
• Deep cloud experience: AWS, Azure, serverless architectures
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and setting technology strategy while contributing code directly
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Bitbucket, Vercel)
• Strong background in FAST API, SDKs, and microservices
• Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills with a product-driven mindset
• Good communication skills and general understanding of the latest and greatest in technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on with AI ecosystems (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google AI)
• Experience with retrieval augmented generation (RAG), data pipelines, prompt engineering, and responsible AI
• Prior experience in fast-paced startup environments, delivering quickly and iterating with agility
• Knowledge of FHIR integrations, EHR/EMR systems, and healthcare compliance
• Strong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills with a product-driven mindset
