Summary
We are looking for a digital marketing content strategist and copywriter that can take our website to the next level. We have long had a strong website with a number of posts in the top 5 SERPs, but there are some challenges.
- Traffic has dropped: Wed 14 May had 86k impressions and 671 clicks while Wed 23 July had 47k impressions and 442 clicks. (see image)
- In general, our Pages are hated by Google (ranking >50), as well as some Posts, while other Posts thrive (ranking <10)
- Overall traffic is much higher than it was before releasing a new site in 2019, but inbound leads are much less, they have never recovered; most traffic is to informational-intent blog posts (the then-consultant moved from www to non-www, changed most URLs, and set up no redirects)
Our technical SEO is relatively good, since we score high on things like core web vitals, pagespeed, and automated SEO scans. So, there is some deeper issue at hand.
Goals:
1. Ensure we are first page SERP for important keywords that are relatively niche.
2. Increase the number of inbound leads by improving content on the bottom of funnel Pages to get higher ranking and better conversion
Tasks
- Enhance content on current pages for more conversion and engagement (our staff are technical experts and the content reflects this)
- Develop plan to develop new pages/posts
- Evaluate why our Posts perform well but Pages are ignored by Google
- Evaluate potential cannibalism
- Evaluate causes of bizarre spikes one day per week (often Saturdays, though we are B2B - see image)
- Develop plan for off-site content such as Medium, Reddit, Quora
- Manage a rebound from recent loss of traffic due to updates
- Produce better content for social media

About the position
This is a part-time consultant position. We are looking for an experienced SEO/Content person that can work mostly independently to solve this critical issue.
