Software Engineer

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Big Data / Java) – Brazil (Remote). Join our international team supporting one of the world’s largest social media platforms.

Duration: 6 Months (Freelance)

Location: Brazil (Remote – must be based in Brazil)

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance large-scale data processing systems in a distributed environment
• Design and optimize pipelines and metadata models
• Build and customize Spark internals and contribute to open-source community
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully agile setup
• Design Fine Grained Access Control systems for big data platforms
• Maintain and improve platform performance and scalability

Requirements:

• 5+ years as a Software Engineer with strong Java expertise (Kotlin is a plus)
• 3+ years building scalable big data infrastructure/platforms
• Solid experience with Spark, Hadoop, Parquet/ORC, or Flink
• Strong OOP and system documentation skills
• Results-oriented mindset and proactive communication
• Fluency in English (Mandatory)

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.
