MetroResidences is a Singapore-based real estate tech company that manages and contracts serviced apartments and rental properties, mainly in Tokyo. Currently managing over 500 properties, the company is continuing to grow, with an eye on doubling its business size in the next few years.

Our online rental platform allows users to complete everything from property searches to contracts and payments online for stays of one month or longer, and is driving the digitalization of real estate transactions in Japan.

Currently, over 95% of contracts are completed online, and our service, which emphasizes convenience and transparency, is used by many customers. We have received over 300 reviews on Google, with an average rating of 4.5.

The Japan office is run by a team of approximately 15 people and has received investment from the Rakuten Group and US 500 Startups, with the aim of further expansion.

Contract Terms

• Rate: 16,000,000 VND - 18,000,000 VND per month

Job Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Freelance UX/UI Designer (Remote working) to support our product design needs on a remote and flexible basis. You’ll be responsible for delivering user-centered, high-fidelity web and/or mobile interfaces and contributing to the overall product strategy. This role is ideal for a seasoned designer who thrives in fast-paced, remote environments and is confident working independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

🔍 UX Design

• Conduct user research, analyze customer insights, and translate them into design strategies.
• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and low-fidelity mockups to communicate user journeys.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define UX goals and validate through user feedback or testing.

🎨 UI Design

• Design visually polished, responsive, and accessible UI components for web/mobile platforms.
• Align designs with branding guidelines and maintain consistency across screens.
• Build and maintain design systems or component libraries if required.

🤝 Client & Team Collaboration

• Communicate progress clearly with clients or team leads via async or scheduled meetings.
• Accept and implement feedback quickly and efficiently.
• Deliver assets and documentation for handoff to developers (Zeplin, Figma, or similar tools).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8-10 years of hands-on UX/UI design experience.
• Strong portfolio showcasing both UX thinking and UI execution.
• Proficiency in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar.
• Ability to manage your own time and projects in a remote freelance setting.
• Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines without micromanagement.
• Solid understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
• Be able to communicate in English and presentation skills.
• Team size: 2 Developers (1 FE, 1 BE) + 1 PM

Nice to Have

• Experience with B2B SaaS, eCommerce, or startup products.
• Familiarity with front-end implementation (HTML/CSS knowledge).
• Experience using tools like Notion, Slack, Trello, or Jira for remote collaboration.
• Comfort working across different time zones and cultures.
