Overview
We are seeking an experienced UI Designer to join our design team in an on-demand capacity. This position supports overflow project work, ad hoc design needs, and team coverage during PTO. While the work will vary depending on client and project demands, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic, high-impact design initiatives.
This is not a freelance, flexible-hour role, candidates must be available full-time during EST working hours to collaborate with internal and client teams, attend meetings, and deliver design solutions as needed. Open to be worked remotely in any south American country
Key Responsibilities
- Support active design projects as needed during staff PTO and overflow periods.
- Mentor and guide other UI Designers.
- Define and implement visual direction for project rollouts.
- Develop and maintain design systems and style guides.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles with clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the strategic vision of the user experience.
- Lead design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in project planning and scoping activities.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and developer specifications.
- Conduct user research and analyze user feedback.
- Ensure designs are accessible and adhere to WCAG and usability standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and timelines.
- Communicate design decisions effectively to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Follow Curio’s Figma Etiquette for all design files.
- Maintain design consistency across products and platforms.
- Stay current with Apple HIG, Google Material, and Web Design Best Practices.
Typical Tasks
- Design support for Proof of Concepts (POCs) and RFPs.
- Contribution to case studies and internal initiatives.
- Long-term design maintenance and system updates.
Required Skills
Primary Skills
- Expertise in Figma (including advanced component systems).
- Strong understanding of Apple HIG, Google Material Design, and web design best practices.
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards.
- Skilled in design presentation and client communication.
Secondary Skills (Nice to Have)
- Animation and motion design.
- Video editing and print design.
- 3D modeling, AI/AR/VR experience.
- User research and usability testing.
- Webflow or front-end development experience.
Soft Skills
