Senior Project Manager Consultant (Architecture/Design)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the design and implementation of Atelier Roux’s project management function.

We’ll lean on your expertise to design a project management system that supports our small team to work efficiently and effectively.

The output of this project include:

• Standardized, highly granular task list for our typical project types:
• Residential new build and renovation projects spanning 2,500 to 20,000 sq ft
• High-end, detailed architectural design projects
• Standardized recommended timeline for each task (e.g. bathroom faucet selection requires 1 day)
• Mapped interdependencies and quality control tasks
• Task assignment by role: Principal Designer, Design Team, Procurement Team
• Guidance for mapping design work to architectural firm completion stages (e.g. which tasks should be completed to align with the architect’s 50% completion milestone)
• Input from existing team members to build a system that works for everyone
• Implementing the standardized project into our project management software (Asana)
• Onboarding the team + a to-be-hired Project Operations Manager to effectively use the new system

You will work in partnership with the team, incorporating their input and seeking their feedback throughout the project.

Ideal candidates will be available to maintain a relationship after project completion for ad hoc advisory.

This is a fully remote position, but you must be available for regular communication during U.S. business hours.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience project managing 30+ high-end residential renovations and new builds (2,500 to 20,000 sq ft), ideally in numerous geographic locations

• Experience designing and/or continuously improving the project management function/system at 2+ small architectural design firms

• Experience directly managing (being accountable for) the work of 3-8 Project Managers

• Strong communication skills with a successful track record interfacing with Principal Designers, Design Teams, Procurement, and Finance

• Experience with robust project management software (direct Asana experience is ideal, but not required)

• Demonstrated ability as a systems thinker: you build for scalability

• 3+ years experience in a project management, operations, or finance role—preferably within an interior design or architecture firm

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven

• Strong communicator with the ability to balance structure with flexibility

• Able to work independently with confidence, accountability, and clear follow-through

• Experience managing projects using Asana

Project Schedule & Compensation

• Kick-off project in September, completion within November

• Project-based compensation commensurate with experience
