_The Position
_Arkatechture is seeking candidates for a Program Lead Business Data Analyst position to support Business Intelligence and Data warehousing initiatives focused on our Financial Services clients. This position requires specialization in Credit Card portfolios with specific experience in Retail Card Services on TSYS.
As a Program Lead Business Data Analyst, responsibilities include data analysis, data profiling, data mapping, developing SQL views, and driving progress on projects to meet client objectives. This role requires proficiency in interpreting data, trends, and patterns in complex data sets, technical expertise with data models, databases and reporting tools like Tableau or PowerBI. The ability to interpret and use artifacts like business requirement documents, system requirements documents, critical data element identification and classification, requirement traceability matrix, workflows, data mapping, etc. is required. The role is 80% program management and leadership and 20% hands-on data analysis and development. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently with the business and the technology teams collaborating with the project/program managers. This position has the opportunity to be 100% remote if desired.

Key Responsibilities
_Program Management
_
Lead, manage, and execute multiple data analytics programs, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to business data analysts, facilitating skill development and knowledge transfer.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable data strategies.
Collaborate with project managers and account executives to grow client relationships and drive strategic initiatives.
Define and enforce best practices in data governance, data quality, and documentation.
Oversee end-to-end data pipeline development and business intelligence solutions, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
Conduct risk management and proactively identify potential project challenges, developing mitigation strategies.
Drive continuous process improvement, leveraging Agile methodologies to optimize workflows and increase efficiency.
Provide ongoing status reporting to key stakeholders, including project sponsors, program managers, and senior leadership.
Develop project roadmaps, monitor progress, and ensure deliverables meet business and regulatory requirements.
Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration, working closely with data engineers, business analysts, and data scientists to implement robust data solutions.
Advocate for data-driven decision-making, ensuring data analytics initiatives are aligned with overall business strategy.
_Data Analysis & Development
_
Expert level professional role, considered subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge/expertise in Financial Services with experience in Credit Card on TSYS required and Retail Card Services or First Data preferred
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluent in SQL and SAS
Supports business teams in the use and understanding of the data and reporting solutions
Develops data road map/information management strategies and corresponding technical solutions on integrating, transforming, and/or managing data
Drives data-centric solution development focusing on complex data integration
Solicits, analyzes, and understands data requirements (i.e., using market research, requirements gathering, feature planning, user experience / design considerations, etc.) to enable development of information management solutions
Develop Source to Target Mappings
Data Profiling, analyzing source system data and metadata and collect requirements for data ingestion into a data warehouse
Developing and deconstructing complex SQL, Common Table Expressions, Stored Procedures, and Views for Business Conformance layers
Data Cleansing, Data Quality assessments and developing data quality rules
Implementing data warehouses, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize business intelligence and analytical efficiency and quality
Building reference data for hierarchies, lookups and grouping purposes
Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and developing and maintaining Data Dictionaries, Critical Data Identification and Classification, Data Lineage, and Data Quality rules
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Filter and "clean" data by reviewing reports and key performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
Testing using SQL and providing development sign off
Documentation of processes and workflows

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
_Minimum Qualifications
_
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or 2-5 years of experience in a similar role
Expert in complex SQL syntax
Domain expertise in Financial Services working with Banks and/or Credit Unions focused on Credit Card portfolios on TSYS
Enthusiastic, learner and driven with a positive attitude
Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Experience working on multiple databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc
A strong understanding of Agile software development life cycle and methodology
Experience working on Data Management projects for Data Lakes/Data Warehousing
Experience driving and growing client interaction as part of sales support and project delivery
Analytical and problem-solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions
Review, analyze and evaluate detailed business and functional requirements, documentation, process flows and data models to contribute to the development of project plans including project charter, project deliverables, cost/benefits analysis, timeline estimates, scope and control.
Develop use cases, defining and documenting user procedures and workflows, and how each class of user interacts with east system function
Assist in the development of conversion and implementation strategies
Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
Ability to work successfully as a player/coach
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions

_Preferred Experience
_
5+ years as a Subject Matter Expert in Financial Services, especially Credit Card on TSYS specifically
Proactively identifies and tracks project risk and develops mitigation plans to manage risk (i.e., risk related to technology, change management, procurement, business process management, requirements management)
Provides on-going communication to key stakeholders, including the Project Sponsor, Business Project Owner, Program Manager and Portfolio Manager to ensure they are aware of significant changes to the project status in a timely manner
Develops, monitors and tracks project plans throughout project lifecycle
Monitors and controls the work related to each deliverable
Familiarity with Backbase, Databricks, PySpark, Azure, dbt, Snowflake, AWS
