Global Life Insurer - Asia Senior Data Scientist (ML / Agentic)

The opportunity

We are partnered with a global life insurer to build out its regional AI Centre of Excellence, applying advanced analytics, machine learning, generative AI and agentic approaches to business challenges across Asia.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will lead the scientific design and validation of complex use cases. You will connect rigorous experimentation with commercial and operational priorities, helping teams establish where new approaches deliver value and where their limitations must be understood. This is a hands-on role with scope to mentor colleagues and influence technical decisions across delivery teams.

What you will do

• Translate business problems and redesigned processes into testable hypotheses.
• Select and develop suitable ML, generative AI and agentic approaches.
• Define grounding strategies and intended agent behaviours.
• Lead experiments and demonstrate proof of value against clear business measures.
• Explain scientific trade-offs and mentor data scientists.
• Partner with engineers on reproducibility and the transition of validated approaches into production development.

What you will bring

• Strong experimental design, statistical reasoning and Python skills.
• Senior hands-on experience with generative AI or agentic solutions.
• Applied data-science capability and the ability to lead proof-of-value work.
• Confidence explaining technical choices, evidence and limitations to business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred: Insurance or financial-services experience, AWS SageMaker experience and Chinese language capability.
