Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Windows System Engineer to take control on optimizing system performance for eclean’s desktop application. You’ll be collaborating closely with the product team to design and implement enhancements that improve system responsiveness, performance, usability (QoL), and battery efficiency.

When in this role, you must re-imagine the way our users interact with their device at the operating-system. Discovering niche, potential wants, directly improving users' Windows experience in one way or another.

This role requires a deep understanding of Windows internals and the ability to translate that technical knowledge into practical, impactful improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, Design, and Implement: Take the lead in researching and building low-level system optimizations and "tweaks" that enhance Windows performance, usability (QoL) and battery efficiency.
• Performance Benchmarking: Use tools like Perfmon to benchmark and analyze system performance, ensuring tangible improvements in system speed and battery life.
• System Behaviour Analysis: Deep dive into system behaviour by modifying key components such as the Windows registry and core services.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the desktop team to seamlessly integrate these optimizations into the application, ensuring flawless performance across all devices.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Expert Knowledge of Windows Internals: Proven experience working with component level details of Windows (registry, services, core components).
• System Performance Optimization: Hands-on experience optimizing system performance, with a focus on battery efficiency.
• Proficiency in Monitoring Tools: Extensive experience with tools like Perfmon and other performance monitoring systems to diagnose and enhance system performance.
• 'Experience using Project Management Software: You must be comfortable working with our project management software "Linear" and the "Google Workspace" suite.
• Experience using source control applications: You must be comfortable working with "Git" & "GitHub" for source control at scale.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Tauri Framework
• Experience with Windows APIs, specifically windows-rs or WMI
• Familiarity with PowerShell & Batch
• Excellent project management and team communication skills
• Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Experience in a early stage tech start up or SME as a lead or senior developer
