Backend Node.js Engineer – Remote (Portugal) Contract

• 6-month daily rate contract (with potential for extension)
• Remote within Portugal
• Up to €350 per day

A leading international organisation is expanding its software engineering function in Portugal. This is a fully remote, 6-month contract role for an experienced Backend Node.js Engineer. With ongoing investment in long-term contractors, there is a strong likelihood of extension beyond the initial term.

This role offers the chance to play a key part in a significant architectural transformation—from monolithic systems to a microservices-based approach. You’ll be working in a high-performing team that values clean, scalable, and maintainable code. The technical environment includes GCP, Node.js, TypeScript, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.

We are seeking a senior-level engineer who is comfortable taking ownership and delivering robust backend solutions. You’ll be contributing to a roadmap focused on innovation, scalability, and performance.

Key Requirements:

• 4–8+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Node.js
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and microservices architecture

Contract Rate:

€250 – €350 per day (dependent on experience)
