Job Description

Apex Systems is seeking a Lead Consultant – DataOps/DevOps to join our US & Canada Solutions Delivery practice. This role will lead project teams with Apex clients to design and deliver DataOps and DevOps solutions to both cloud-based and on-premise environments. This role will also provide technical subject matter expertise for Apex sales and account teams during the scoping of new opportunities.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• The team will work in an agile fashion with a product owner to prioritize work and deliver value to the stakeholders.
• The role will be part of an offshore development team that works remotely and communicates via online tools and platforms.
• The role will be expected to follow the best practices and standards for data ops development, such as code quality, documentation, version control, security, etc.
• Participate in regular online meetings and demos with the product owner, the stakeholders, and other team members.
• Collaborate with other developers, testers, and data engineers on data ops projects and tasks.
• Work with team leads to develop new automation pipelines that meet the business and technical requirements.
• Maintaining existing pipelines, fixing bugs, and enhancing features as per the feedback and change requests.
• Creating unit tests for all built pipelines to ensure the functionality and accuracy of the data processing.
• Conducting code reviews and ensuring the adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting the data pipeline issues and incidents.
• Documenting the data pipeline design, configuration, and operation.
• Evaluate success metrics that measure the delivery time, successful deployments, defect rates, and other relevant indicators of the data pipeline quality.

Job Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development and engineering
• Experience with Python / Shell
• Experience with GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps / Jenkins
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with GitOps
• Experience with Azure Services: Storage / ML Studio / Azure Functions / RBAC / Networking
• Experience with Database Technologies: Snowflake / SQL Server / Oracle / NoSQL
• CI/CD experience
• Experience working in an Agile development environment with an understanding of tools like Rally and Jira
• Positive relationship builder, able to navigate through complex situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution.
• Strong analytical skills and the aptitude to quickly identify gaps and risks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including presenting complex concepts to engineering, business partners.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields or applicable education and experience
