As part of Brit’s technology team, you will participate in the innovation and delivery of technology and software solutions that support Brit’s business objectives.

As a software engineer, you will be working within a squad of product owners, scrum master and very driven Agile teams to identify and improve tools, systems and platforms that enhance Brit’s ability to create solutions and services for our customers. This role will translate business needs and functional designs into functioning software or technology designs and deliver/develop common foundation architecture components that conform to known successful patterns, and that support evolution toward the future-state architecture.

You will be part of a Engineering team that will participate in professional and comprehensive support and build, with the flexibility to build or maintain the specified solution or initiative dependent upon the departmental requirements.

  • Solve complex business challenges collaboratively with a dynamic tech team
  • Build scalable systems using .NET, Microservices, APIs, Azure Container Apps, CI/CD Pipelines, Azure Service Bus and modern UI tech like Blazor
  • Deliver features aligned with Agile software delivery, incorporating TDD and automation
  • Apply OO, DRY, and SOLID principles in solution design
  • Perform full-stack development across front-end, back-end, and database layers
  • Ensure systems are operationally robust with a “build to run” mindset
  • Work closely with internal teams to enhance product quality
  • Participating in peer reviews and mentoring junior developers
  • Diagnosing issues and optimizing application performance
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Quickly understand project requirements and technical concepts
  • Support and maintain software in live environments, using modern tools for fault diagnosis and resolution
  • Package and deploy software efficiently
  • Embracing new tools, frameworks, and evolving business needs
  • Adopt and implement BRIT engineering guardrails using MCP framework.
  • Engage in continuous learning through L&D activities
  • Experiment with tools and processes to drive internal innovation

Technical - sound commercial experience in the following:

  • C#, .NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework
  • Previous experience working on Low code solutions and integrating it into the tech stack is desirable, however is not must have skill.
  • TDD using testing frameworks
  • Good understanding on building decoupled, event-driven systems
  • Container orchestration for microservices (if applicable)
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment within Azure DevOps.
  • Azure PaaS services (App Services, Function Apps, Container Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Azure Storage, Key Vaults, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure AD).
  • Experience of Webservices, Web API, Swagger, Postman & Microsoft APIM
  • Experienced in an Agile delivery environment
  • Understanding of design documentation, UML, Entity Relationship Diagramming etc.
  • Observability tools (Azure Monitor, Sentinel, Azure App Insights)

Technical - Commercial experience in some of the following:

  • Azure Service Bus, Azure Redis
  • Azure PowerShell, Terraform.
  • Blazor, React, PowerApps

Non- Technical:

  • Good interpersonal skills with a key ability to work with an Agile team
  • Good analytical and technical skills.
  • Ability to think out of the box and deliver on the agreed solutions to business problems.
  • Strong interest in latest technology trends.
