This is not a job. This is a founding-level creative command role at the core of Anime Universe’s future.

As Chief Design Officer, you are the creative spine of the entire company. From interface to identity, from cinematic moments to system-level UI, you orchestrate the multi-layered design language that defines the user’s entire emotional, functional, and spatial experience.

Minimum commitment: 20 hours/week. If that isn’t feasible, this isn’t your seat.

This is an equity partner role. That means:

• No upfront cash compensation
• Equity (shares) at strategic partner level (vesting standard)
• Future token-based rewards (pending legal review)
• Salary activates with revenue-based milestones

Overview

We’re recruiting a Chief Design Officer to lead the formation and growth of our Full-Spectrum Meta Design Team.

This team spans across:

• Product UI/UX
• Visual & Graphic Design
• Motion & Animation
• Worldbuilding & Illustration
• Hybrid Interactive Systems

You will work directly with the CEO, CPO, and CTO to create a scalable creative system that aligns deeply with our product layers (new proprietary UI system, runtime UI, narrative UI), lore, technical infrastructure, and platform velocity.

Your role is not only executional—it’s architectural.

You’ll recruit, mentor, and guide a team of 25–30 of the sharpest design thinkers in the world.

What You’ll Own

• Define and maintain Anime Universe’s holistic design vision, culture, and execution pipeline
• Architect cross-functional collaboration between design, engineering, product, and narrative
• Establish design standards, design systems, design tokens, and pattern libraries
• Recruit, coach, and retain a team of elite designers, motion artists, UX researchers, and illustrators
• Oversee execution of UI/UX design across platform tools, player interfaces, studio tools, and narrative systems
• Direct all branding design, motion standards, visual storytelling, character-lore design, and product interfaces
• Represent the design org in strategic decisions at the C-level
• Drive design performance reviews, async design sprints, and operational health of the team

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years leading creative teams across UI/UX, product, and brand design
• Experience owning design at a strategic level for a product, platform, or interactive experience
• Deep systems thinker who understands both grid-level UI and cinematic-level motion
• Prior experience managing distributed design teams and async creative workflows
• Sharp visual taste—can direct anime, manga, digital, or futuristic aesthetics with authority
• Strong understanding of design tooling: Figma, Framer, Adobe CC, Lottie, Spline, Unity UI, etc.
• Bonus: experience designing in narrative, anime IP, or large-scale creative platforms
