Web Designer / Front-End Developer
Location: Remote or Hybrid - Capitol Hill, Washington D.C.

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Web Designer / Front-End Developer who is first and foremost a hands-on builder. The ideal candidate combines strong front-end engineering expertise with sound design judgment and a user-centered mindset. We want someone who can consistently deliver polished, production-ready web experiences.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys owning projects end-to-end, values clarity and accessibility, and is comfortable working in a compliance-aware, government-adjacent environment.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Design, build, and maintain responsive, accessible web experiences aligned with Anata’s mission and products
- Translate complex data and government workflows into clear, user-centered interfaces
- Collaborate with engineers, product leads, and reviewers to implement designs accurately and efficiently
- Develop clean, maintainable front-end code using modern web technologies and best practices
- Create and refine design systems, components, and UI patterns to ensure consistency and scalability
- Ensure websites meet accessibility, performance, and security standards appropriate for public-facing and government-adjacent platforms
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and evolving project goals
- Balance aesthetics with functionality, performance, and clarity (especially for data-heavy content)
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment
- Take ownership of projects from concept through launch and ongoing improvement
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience designing and developing production-ready websites
- A portfolio demonstrating original design work and front-end development implementation (please submit your portfolio via email to careers@anatadata.com to be considered)
- Strong understanding of modern front-end development best practices, including performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design
- Ability to translate complex or data-heavy concepts into clear, user-friendly interfaces
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineers, product stakeholders, and non-technical partners
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
- Experience working in environments where security, accuracy, and compliance matter
- Security clearance eligible

- Submitted work must clearly demonstrate the candidate’s own design and front-end development decisions
- Personal websites or portfolios that are primarily generated by AI-based website builders or fully automated site generators are not acceptable (i.e., Vercel, Framer, Canva)
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-stack development experience
- Experience working with design systems at scale
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience supporting public-facing or government-adjacent websites
- Experience collaborating in Agile or cross-functional product teams
