Team Description

As part of the Platform & AI Enablement team under GPTO Engineering, you’ll report to the Sr. Director Engineering API. This team is accountable for shaping enterprise data architecture, enabling high-performance AI-driven workloads, and acting as a technical bridge between engineering and architecture.

Your Impact

Lead the design and delivery of platform capabilities powering enterprise-scale data processing, AI integration, and developer acceleration
Partner with architects and senior engineers to set technical direction and align implementation patterns with long-term strategy
Apply a product mindset to ensure platform solutions address real customer and business needs
Deliver thought leadership and coding excellence across Java, React, Python, and other fit-for-purpose technologies
Mentor and elevate engineers across teams through design reviews, pair programming, and sharing best practices
Champion innovation in performance, tooling, and platform features, with an emphasis on enterprise reliability and scalability
Collaborate across multiple global teams to drive API-first solutions that serve thousands of tenants and tens of thousands of customers
Balance fast iteration on ideas with sound engineering practices to avoid technical dead-ends
Contribute to technical planning, strategy, and retrospectives that shape the future of the platform

Your Qualifications

12+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise-scale, data-centric, or platform environments
Deep expertise in distributed data technologies such as Apache Kafka, Flink, and/or Pulsar
Strong background in event-driven architectures, streaming pipelines, and data lakes
Hands-on experience with AI/ML production systems, including prompt-based LLM integrations
Expert-level Java development skills, with a polyglot mindset (comfortable in Python, React, or other languages as needed)
Proven experience working in multi-team, global environments with strong collaboration and communication skills
Track record of delivering API-first infrastructures supporting high throughput and enterprise reliability
Knowledge of hybrid and cloud-agnostic infrastructures and their trade-offs
Familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps, and high-velocity release workflows
Experience balancing speed of iteration with long-term sustainability and quality
