Summary

As a Software Engineer III on Anaconda’s platform team, you’ll help shape the core infrastructure that powers our ecosystem. Your focus will be designing foundational services that enable discoverability across our products and will help build a seamless experience for users to find, manage, and share resources across the Anaconda platform.

You’ll be joining a team of high-caliber engineers to build these systems from the ground up. Think greenfield opportunities, high visibility, and the chance to put your fingerprint on infrastructure that will touch millions.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and build scalable backend services and APIs that support search, collections, and other core platform functionality
• Develop reliable, cloud-native infrastructure that enables self-service and smooth product integration for internal and external users
• Collaborate across teams—product, infrastructure, frontend—to build features that are as delightful as they are performant
• Champion best practices in software design, security, testing, and operational excellence
• Continuously explore new backend tools, patterns, and technologies to help us evolve and scale our platform

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience
• Strong Python skills, including experience with APIs, OOP, and security-conscious development
• Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized services
• Proficiency in microservices and distributed systems architecture
• Excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership
• A get-stuff-done mindset and eagerness to grow and take initiative

Bonus Points

• Experience at high-performance engineering orgs and/or Master’s degree
• Familiarity with search algorithms, information retrieval, or working on file discovery platforms
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal software projects
• Background with AI/ML tooling, LLMs, or Anaconda’s product suite

The US base salary range for this role is $115,500-$199,750 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual compensation is determined by various factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will provide more specific details on the salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
