About Amp Assist:
We are an early stage start-up seeking to make a real impact in the eMobility sector, by providing intelligent services that shape the EV drivers experience while reducing operational costs.
With that goal in mind, we are building AI-native systems that keep EV charging infrastructure running smoothly and intelligently. Our two main products are:
-
Amp Nexus – an omni-channel contact center powered by AI Agents (voice, chat, and email) that helps EV drivers in real time to solve any reported issues and to do an auto incident escalation.
-
Amp Pulse – our AI operations brain, monitoring thousands of charge points 24/7, detecting issues early, automating maintenance workflows, and performing predictive diagnostics across entire networks.
We're hiring a Senior AI Software Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a drive to build impactful systems. If you're looking for a role where your technical decisions shape the direction of the product and truly matter — this is your opportunity.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain scalable backend services that orchestrate AI agents across chat, email, and voice channels (Amp Nexus) and across diagnostics, monitoring, and actions (Amp Pulse).
- Use agentic friendly frameworks like Pydantic AI and Pipecat to define agent protocols, memory structures, and tool schemas for structured agent workflows.
- Apply emerging standards like Google A2A (Agents-to-Agents) and Anthropic MCP (Model Context Protocol) to ensure agents communicate effectively and maintain shared memory/state.
- Contribute to the design of APIs that connect agents to external systems (CRMs, MQTT brokers, diagnostic tools, ticketing systems, etc.).
- Collaborate on agent evaluation tooling, from auto-regression tests to live replay pipelines and performance dashboards.
- Have the opportunity to influence the product direction and to integrate workflows that bring value to our customers.
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Have:
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer, with strong backend or full-stack exposure.
- Deep proficiency in Python and modern API development (FastAPI, asyncio, type hints, etc.).
- Experience with tools like Pydantic AI, Pipecat, LangChain, or custom-built agent frameworks.
- Practical experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered systems.
- Strong understanding of agent-based design patterns, tool use, and schema-driven workflows.
- Experience working end-to-end in production environments — from observability to deployment and testing.
- Incorporate AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Aider) into your workflows.
Bonus Points For:
- Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning, RAG pipelines, or model hosting (e.g., vLLM, Hugging Face).
- Exposure to protocols like Google A2A and Anthropic MCP for interoperable agent systems.
- Experience building internal evaluation tools for agents (e.g., rubric-based tests, regression tracking).
- Knowledge of the eMobility transportation industry is a plus.
Why Join Amp Assist?
- Work on systems that make a real-world impact by improving EV infrastructure reliability and user experience.
- Help scale intelligent agents across support channels and operational automation — no "demo-ware", just deployed intelligence.
- Collaborate with a tight, senior-level team solving hard engineering challenges with real AI.
- Fully remote team with flexible hours, high autonomy, and fast decision-making.
- Have a direct impact on product direction — we foster a flat, collaborative environment where engineers are deeply involved in design decisions and roadmap planning.
- Competitive salary, equity opportunities, and learning/development support.
If you're an engineer who loves building robust systems, and you're excited about working at the intersection of AI, automation, and real-world infrastructure, we’d love to talk.
