Note: This is an opportunity for a 4-day (32 hour) remote marketing position for a historic publisher.
Role Overview
Amos Media is seeking a high-autonomy, "full-stack" Marketing Manager to lead customer acquisition, retention, and ecommerce growth for our 150-year-old legacy hobby brands (Coin World and Amos Advantage).
This is not a traditional "management" role; it is a Senior Execution role. You will be the primary architect and operator of our digital funnels. You are responsible for maintaining a critical $20 CPA for magazine subscriptions while simultaneously pivoting our ecommerce strategy to defend against aggressive new market competitors and supply-chain interference.
The ideal candidate thrives in a "Department of One" environment, is comfortable navigating proprietary legacy software, and possesses the strategic maturity to advise ownership on long-term growth and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Performance Marketing & Subscription Acquisition
- Paid Media Management: Execute daily hands-on management of Meta (Facebook) and Google Ads with a combined monthly budget of $8,500+.
- CPA Optimization: Own the $20 CPA benchmark for Coin World subscriptions. You must be able to write copy, wireframe creative, and optimize sets without agency support.
- Multi-Channel Expansion: Scale reach using Google Customer Match to target database segments unreachable via Meta and experiment with high-ticket ($100+) print/digital subscription bundles.
- Reactivation Strategy: Lead a digital-first reactivation pivot to reduce reliance on expensive physical mailers (currently costing $43/customer).
2. Ecommerce Strategy & Competitor Defense (Amos Advantage)
- 1st-Party Pivot: Execute a mandated shift away from licensed 3rd-party products toward high-margin, Amos-owned proprietary brands (Stamp Albums, Mounts, and Supplements).
- Competitor Safeguarding: Proactively market 1st-party alternatives to mitigate "sandbagging" and supply-chain hostility from competitors (SSLLC).
- Merchandising & POD: Manage a storefront of 7,000+ SKUs, leveraging Print-on-Demand (POD) capabilities to manage inventory carry and storage.
- Product Launches: Lead the technical spec, marketing launch, and maintenance of a new "Autoship" Supplement Club and a proprietary Customer Loyalty/Membership program.
- Seasonal Campaigns: Execute high-impact events, including the "July 4th Restock Sale," to signal market dominance following inventory replenishment.
3. Funnel Optimization & Lead Generation
- DOI Overhaul: Replace plaintext Double-Opt-In (DOI) emails with a high-value "Bribe-to-Confirm" Lead Magnet sequence to capture 1,000+ monthly passive leads.
- Editorial Synergy: Act as the marketing bridge for the Editorial Director, providing actionable content analytics (e.g., "Big Sale" and "Controversy" traffic) to drive better content development and lead magnet creation.
- Email Marketing: Manage the weekly Amos Advantage newsletter (15k list) and all automated renewal/onboarding drip campaigns.
4. Sales Enablement
- Support Collateral: Develop professional Media Kits, Rate Cards, and Sell Sheets for the in-house advertising sales team.
- Active Lead Gen: Implement CRM drip campaigns and B2B lead magnets to provide the sales team with "warm" advertiser leads rather than relying on cold outreach.
Technical & Professional Requirements
- Full-Stack Execution: You must be a "doer"—capable of producing creative, writing copy, and deploying technical campaigns independently.
- Legacy Tech Navigation: Proven ability to learn and operate within idiosyncratic, proprietary legacy CRM, ERP, and ESP systems.
- Data Analysis: Ability to liaise with IT/Finance to solve for and track Lifetime Value (LTV) and Churn Analysis metrics.
- Strategic Reporting: Provide consistent reporting to the CEO, focusing on "Controllable Revenue" (1st-party) vs. "At-Risk Revenue" (3rd-party licensed IP).
- AI Integration: Proficiency in using AI tools to accelerate creative production, copywriting, and data synthesis is highly encouraged.
Qualifications
- Ideally 5–7+ years of experience in D2C Digital Marketing, Subscription Marketing, or Ecommerce.
- Demonstrated experience managing $5k+ monthly ad spends with strict CPA/ROAS targets.
- Background in a niche hobbyist, "enthusiast," or legacy media market is a significant plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager and/or Google Ads.
Culture & Benefits
- Work-Life Balance: Standard 4-day work week (32 hours) with high autonomy. Remote with the option to work out of our Ohio headquarters for local candidates.
- Stability: Join a 5th-generation family business with a 150-year history.
- Benefits: Comprehensive, low-premium medical insurance. Employer 401k plan. Optional STD/LTD and life insurance.
