Job Duties
Develops and delivers software that meets established standards as well as expectations for performance, business impact, and user experience. Tracks and reports issues. Addresses patterns and root causes of shortfalls in technical quality and user acceptance. Understands business processes and workflows and core team applications and specializations as reflected in the Developer Competency Matrix. Understands and applies Agile, development best practices, and other approaches for iterative development of production-ready software. Focuses on test-driven development practices and leverages continuous integration delivery standards and best practices. Follows policies for secure code development and engages in secure coding practices. Fosters and demonstrates CIS Core Values to achieve service objectives and deliver value. Shares knowledge to ensure individuals and teams have the appropriate breadth and depth to offer support to the business, projects, and day to day operations. Serves as an internal champion of change initiatives undertaken by the organizations. Actively seeks out opportunities to learn and apply emerging trends such as best practices and standards. Looks for challenging assignments that add value to the organization and applies learnings from those opportunities in his or her own role. Job Requirements
This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 9 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role.
Requires at least 7 years of experience with the following skills:
Object-oriented programming including Java or similar.
Guidewire Development, including an understanding of event destinations, business rules, product model, data model and comfortability with an IDE (Studio)
Requires at least 3 years of experience with the following skills:
Relational and non-relational database concepts including SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
Source control tools including SVN, Git, or similar.
Requires at least 2 years of experience with the following skills:
SOAP and REST web services.
Requires the following GuideWire certifications: Associate Certification and Specialist Certification.
