The Position

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Developer (NGTS-JSE)-Senior to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $155,000.00 - $180,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for remote work.

Position Background

The Modeling & Simulation Enterprise Applications (MSEA) product suite supports modeling and simulation (M&S) environments; trainer systems; test and evaluation (T&E); analysis; live, virtual and constructive (LVC); research and development (R&D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. All products are government owned, developed and managed. The Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis and research and development.

A typical day as a Software Developer (NGTS-JSE)-Senior may include:

Develops software for an advanced synthetic training environment
Integrates software into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats
Supports software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
Demonstrates a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns and object-oriented software design
Evaluates and reviews C++ language code
Programs using C++, Python 3 and HTML
Develops parallel processes, threading and process communication
Develops web-based applications using development technology
Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements
Demonstrates potential to become a product owner

Must-haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering: Degrees in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering may qualify
Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
10 years of relevant work experience
10 years of C++ development in defense environments
Experience SAFe Product Owner and Scrum Master
Experience with NGTS
Experience with real-time/distributed systems (DIS and C++)
Experience with Agile/Scrum and JIRA
Experience with Windows and Linux development
Familiarity with time-series analysis
The ability to deliver production code from requirements
The ability to work in office 1-2 times a month at the AMEWAS Orlando office
Holds final Secret eligibility-The ability to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills

Experience with Python (architecture/lead roles)
Experiences with flight simulation/military aircraft domains
Experience with MIL-STD-1553B, DirectX, OpenGL and Docker

Physical Environment And Working Conditions

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.
