American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is seeking a Sr UX Designer II to join our Consumer Technology-UXD department.

Help Build the Future of Design at ASH

We're looking for an experienced Senior UX Designer II to help evolve our Design System, strengthen visual quality across products, and shape how AI-assisted product development integrates into the future of UX at ASH.

This role sits at the intersection of Product Design, Design Systems, and Engineering. You'll partner closely with designers, developers, product teams, and design technologists to build reusable patterns, scalable design standards, and AI-ready workflows that help teams move faster while delivering more consistent user experiences.

Salary Range

American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $112,500.00 to $145,000 Full-Time Annual Salary range.

Remote Worker Guidelines

  • Remote Worker Guidelines: This position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network. The internet connection must have a consistent 50 down/10 up Mbps minimum internet speed. 100 down/20 up is recommended to support higher quality video meetings.

Partner across UX, Product, and Engineering to perform the following essential functions:

What You'll Do

  • Design System Leadership
  • Evolve and maintain our Design System, including patterns, components, templates, documentation, and governance practices.
  • Improve consistency across products by promoting reusable solutions and scalable design standards.
  • Drive adoption of Design System practices across teams.

Visual Design & UX Excellence

  • Design high-quality, accessible, and responsive user experiences.
  • Partner with Product Designers to elevate visual quality and usability.
  • Contribute expertise in visual design, interaction design, accessibility, and design best practices.

Design-to-Code Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering and Design Technologists to improve design-to-code workflows.
  • Support component adoption, implementation consistency, and scalable front-end experiences.
  • Help bridge the gap between design intent and implementation.
  • AI & Future-Focused Design
  • Help establish AI-ready design assets, templates, documentation, and reusable workflows.
  • Explore responsible applications of AI-assisted design tools and emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to the evolution of AI-assisted product development practices.

Team Enablement

  • Lead design reviews, workshops, and collaborative working sessions.
  • Mentor designers and share expertise in Design Systems, visual design, accessibility, and emerging UX practices.
  • Influence design decisions through partnership, communication, and systems thinking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS or a related field required. Equivalent practical experience will be considered. If equivalent experience, High School Diploma required.
  • 7 years of progressive experience in UX, product design, UI/visual design, interaction design, Design Systems, or a related discipline required.
  • Experience leading concept ideation, design strategy, prototyping and crafting over-arching digital UX required.
  • Experience building and maintaining Design Systems, component libraries, reusable templates, and UX documentation at scale required.
  • Experience partnering with Product Designers, Engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver consistent user experiences required.
  • Visual and interaction design expertise demonstrated through a portfolio of accessible, responsive digital products, reusable patterns, and scalable design solutions required.
  • Experience contributing to or leading design-to-code workflows and component adoption initiatives preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted workflows to improve design operations, documentation, asset creation, or product development processes preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in UX, UI, visual design, prototyping, and Design System tools, with the ability to create scalable patterns, component libraries, templates, documentation, and reusable UX assets.
  • Strong Design System, visual design, and systems-thinking capabilities, including the ability to establish standards, improve consistency across products, and scale solutions across multiple teams.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design, accessibility, interaction design, and usability best practices, with the ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Ability to leverage AI-assisted design workflows and emerging technologies responsibly, while maintaining quality, accessibility, governance, and human-centered design principles.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions, influence stakeholders, present recommendations, and build alignment across UX, Product, and Engineering.
  • Ability to translate complex problems into clear, actionable, and reusable design solutions, using research, data, systems thinking, and visual frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of front-end development concepts, component-based architectures, and design-to-code workflows, with the ability to effectively partner with engineering teams.
  • Ability to mentor, guide, and elevate design practices across the organization, providing feedback, sharing expertise, and promoting adoption of Design System standards and best practices.
