Position Summary: The Digital Marketing Strategist will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns across email, social media, and web. This role requires a combination of creativity, strategic thinking, and analytical skills to grow our audience, enhance user experience, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Email Marketing
- Assist the Director of Marketing & Communications with the development, scheduling, and performance tracking of email marketing campaigns (e.g. newsletters, promotional emails, and automation workflows) using platforms such as MailerLite and Clickback.
- Write compelling copy and oversee visual design for email communications.
- Maintain and update email lists while ensuring compliance with email marketing regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
- Run A/B tests for subject lines, content, or send times to improve campaign effectiveness.
- Analyze performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click rates) and optimize campaigns for engagement, deliverability, and conversion.
Social Media
- Create and execute a content calendar across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and others.
- Develop engaging, on-brand content including graphics, videos, ads, and stories.
- Monitor trends, respond to comments/messages, and manage community interactions.
- Track and report on social media KPIs to guide strategy.
Website Management
- Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy and freshness.
- Collaborate with developers/designers as needed to improve site structure, UX, and performance.
- Use SEO best practices to improve site visibility and traffic.
- Monitor web analytics and user behavior to inform future updates and campaigns.
Strategy, Collaboration & Project Management
- Support the Marketing Director in developing and executing integrated digital marketing strategies as part of annual planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure digital initiatives align with broader business goals.
- Manage digital marketing projects, providing regular updates and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Create and deploy engaging digital content that supports lead generation, brand awareness and campaign goals.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing, automation and emerging technologies.
- Apply strong project management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Demonstrate adaptability and problem-solving abilities in response to evolving technologies and business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a proven track record in email, social media, and web content/campaign management.
- Familiarity with SMS/MMS marketing platforms, with experience crafting short-form messaging that drives action and aligns with brand tone.
- Experience managing and reporting on paid social advertising, specifically on Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and LinkedIn Ads, with a focus on both lead generation and engagement metrics.
- Skilled in basic video editing, particularly for creating short-form video content and social media assets (e.g., Reels, Stories, LinkedIn clips) that support brand messaging and campaign goals.
- Strong eye for detail with excellent writing, proofreading and copyediting skills to ensure high-quality communications.
- Serve as the organization's MailerLite, WordPress, Hootsuite, Google Analytics and Clickback subject matter expert.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Understanding of audience segmentation and campaign management.
- Creative mindset with analytical capabilities.
Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required):
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge.
- Graphic design or video editing experience (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
