Position Summary

The marketing communications manager plays a key role in shaping and delivering AON’s partner practice communications. This position is responsible for writing, editing, and managing a wide range of communications—from news releases and website content to social media posts, internal messaging and sales enablement materials. The marketing communications manager will help ensure that marketing communications materials support practice goals and align with AON messaging while promoting provider and patient engagement.

The ideal candidate has strong writing and storytelling skills, experience in marketing, communications, public relations, and media relations, and the ability to tailor messaging for multiple audiences and channels. A background in healthcare or a related industry is a plus.

The marketing communications manager must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, consistently meet deadlines, and deliver fully functional marketing communications campaigns—while remaining flexible to support additional marketing and communications needs as they arise.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and manage communications materials for internal and external channels such as news releases, web, bios, blog posts, letters, social media, email communications, practice marketing, advertising and sales enablement.
  • Develop clear, consistent messaging for campaigns, initiatives, and strategic priorities.
  • Draft news releases, create media lists, coordinate outreach, and monitor coverage.
  • Manage and grow AON partner practice organic social media presence. Plan, write and schedule regular posts that align with news, activities, and events.
  • Assist in development of internal communications and deliverables that support employee engagement and cross-team collaboration.
  • Ensure consistency in brand messaging and tone across all platforms and materials.
  • Work with graphic designers to ensure alignment of visual and written content.
  • Support campaign execution.
  • Maintain awareness of healthcare trends, communication best practices and competitor activity.

Position Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field

Previous Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations—preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry.
  • Proven ability to write for multiple audiences and formats (e.g., news releases, internal announcements, web copy, social media).
  • Experience managing organic social media for a business.
  • Strong understanding of marketing communications principles, brand voice and audience engagement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Good writing skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with HIPAA and consumer data privacy compliance.
  • Experience in online reputation management.
  • Healthcare industry experience.

  • Operations & Project Management: Effectively manage, lead, plan and coordinate departments/resources, ensuring the effective deployment, execution, implementation and assessment of projects and operational effectiveness; ability to manage projects from conception to completion.
  • Self-Management: Ability to work autonomously; effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress and professional development.
  • Systems & Platforms: Proficiency and solid working knowledge of MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as major social media platforms (i.e. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.).
    Travel: Expected to work at any company location to help meet business needs, including overnight stays:* Standard Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours; office hours 7 am to 6 pm with flexible scheduling as agreed with leadership; some evenings and weekends required.
