About The Role

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on backend development
• Proficiency in Java and Spring frameworks
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based solutions, particularly AWS cloud services
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with NoSQL technologies like MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Elastic Search
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Effective communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in full-stack application development is a plus
• Experience in scientific, genomics, or healthcare-related applications is preferred
• Knowledge of deploying and managing cloud-native applications on public cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and enhance applications built with React and Java/Spring frameworks to support scientific workflows such as variant identification, ranking, and reporting
• Collaborate closely with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and APIs
• Implement best practices for software engineering, including code quality, automated testing, and security protocols
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex issues, resolve bugs efficiently, and improve overall system reliability
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and technical standards
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team
• Other related duties as assigned to support project goals and organizational needs

• Competitive salary range of $110,000 - $120,000 per year
