Your Role

We’re seeking a talented and experienced UX Designer to join our team on a high-profile central government project. You’ll play a key role in shaping intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly digital services that align with the Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and meet the needs of diverse user groups.

What You’ll Do

• Lead user research and usability testing to uncover insights and validate design decisions
• Translate research findings into user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and service blueprints
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including developers, product managers, and content designers
• Apply GDS design principles to ensure services are accessible, inclusive, and consistent
• Advocate for user needs throughout the design and delivery lifecycle
• Contribute to design critiques, workshops, and agile ceremonies
• Continuously iterate designs based on feedback, analytics, and evolving user needs

Your Skills and Experience

• Proven experience designing digital services for central government or public sector clients
• Strong understanding of GDS standards, including service design, accessibility, and user research practices
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
• Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
• A portfolio showcasing user-centred design work in complex environments
