Project Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in automation and SEO-driven web optimization to build scalable solutions that improve website performance, discoverability, and operational efficiency. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, data, and search optimization, focusing on automating repetitive processes, enforcing quality standards, and enabling teams to continuously improve web performance across large-scale platforms.

Main Responsibilities / Objectives

Automation & Platform Engineering

• Design and implement automation workflows to streamline web operations (e.g., SEO audits, performance checks, content validation).
• Build internal tools and services to reduce manual effort and standardize processes across websites.
• Develop scripts, pipelines, and services that integrate with APIs, crawlers, and analytics platforms.
• Enable self-service capabilities for non-technical stakeholders through tooling and automation.

SEO Engineering

• Translate SEO best practices into scalable technical solutions (e.g., metadata enforcement, structured data, crawlability improvements).
• Build systems to monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, indexing, and search visibility.
• Integrate with platforms like Google Search Console, analytics tools, and crawlers to extract insights and automate actions.
• Partner with SEO and content teams to operationalize recommendations at scale.

Web Performance & Observability

• Implement automated checks for performance, accessibility, and SEO compliance.
• Monitor key KPIs and build dashboards or alerts for anomalies.
• Drive continuous improvements in page speed, rendering strategies, and user experience metrics.

Collaboration

• Work closely with engineers, SEO specialists, product teams, and content stakeholders.
• Participate in architectural discussions to embed SEO and automation into the platform by design.
• Contribute to shared tooling, documentation, and engineering standards.

Expected Deliverables

• Automated tools and pipelines that reduce manual SEO and web operations work.
• Scalable solutions to enforce SEO and performance best practices.
• Systems that monitor and report on web performance and search visibility.
• Clear technical documentation and reusable components/services.
• Measurable improvements in traffic, performance, and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong exposure to web platforms or large-scale websites.
• Proven experience building automation tools, scripts, or internal platforms.
• Hands-on experience with technical SEO in a production environment.

Engineering & Automation

• Strong programming skills (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or similar).
• Experience building APIs, automation pipelines, and backend services.
• Familiarity with web crawling, scraping, or data extraction techniques.

SEO & Web Fundamentals

• Deep understanding of technical SEO: Crawling and indexing, Structured data (schema.org), Metadata, canonicalization, Sitemaps and robots.txt
• Experience with tools like: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog SEO Spider

Web Performance

• Knowledge of Core Web Vitals and performance optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with rendering strategies (SSR, CSR, edge rendering).

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring, and logging tools.

Nice to Have

• Experience building SEO auditing or recommendation engines.
• Familiarity with headless architectures or large multi-site platforms.
• Experience with data pipelines or integrating ML/AI for insights generation.
