Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Scientist to drive advanced analytics initiatives, with a strong focus on Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM).

This role combines leadership, business understanding, and technical depth, acting as a key bridge between business stakeholders and data teams, while ensuring high-quality delivery and alignment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of ~4 Data Scientists, ensuring alignment, productivity, and delivery quality
• Align expectations with business stakeholders and translate needs into actionable data science initiatives
• Act as the main point of contact between the data science team and the business
• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner (PO) to ensure roadmap execution
• Coordinate with other data teams to ensure consistency and integration across initiatives
• Design, oversee, and validate Marketing Mix Models (MMM) and other advanced analytical solutions
• Ensure models are interpretable, scalable, and aligned with business impact
• Stay close to the technical work: review code, guide implementation, and step in when needed (without being fully hands-on)

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Data Science or Advanced Analytics

• Proven experience in Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)

• Strong understanding of both mathematical modeling and business context

• Experience leading and mentoring teams (3–5 people)

• Strong experience with:

• Python

• Pyomo (or similar optimization frameworks)

• Gurobi (or other optimization solvers)

• GitHub

• Ability to understand and review code while maintaining a leadership role

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience working in cross-functional and distributed environments

Nice to Have

• Experience in large-scale marketing or commercial analytics environments
• Background in optimization or econometrics
• Experience working with multiple data teams in complex organizations

Contract Details

• Duration: Initial 6 months (with potential for further extension)
• Start date: ASAP (critical urgency)
• Location: Flexible / remote
