Senior Full-stack Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Full-stack Software Engineer for one of our key clients based in Brussels.

📍The position is remote within EU.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyse functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications, covering front-end interfaces, back-end logic, and database interactions.
• Design and integrate REST and SOAP APIs, ensuring seamless communication between application components.
• Write clean, maintainable, and secure code, following best practices for application architecture, performance, and security.
• Perform code reviews, automated testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and application monitoring, collaborating with development, DevOps, and security teams.

Requirements:

Education and professional experience:

• Master's degree and at least 10 years of professional IT experience; OR
• Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of professional IT experience.

In addition, all candidates must have:

• At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 5 years of recent hands-on experience developing Java applications using IoC frameworks such as Spring.
• At least 5 years of recent experience with relational databases and SQL.
• At least 2 years of recent hands-on experience with a modern JavaScript/TypeScript front-end framework, such as Angular.
• At least 2 years of recent hands-on full-stack development experience, personally working across all the following components simultaneously: Java/Spring, relational databases, JavaScript/TypeScript front-end frameworks, REST APIs, CI/CD, Docker and cloud/container-based deployments.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring and Spring Boot, including REST API development and server-side business logic.
• Strong experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, preferably Angular, as well as HTML5, CSS3 and responsive web design.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL and/or Oracle, including SQL, JPA, data modelling and query optimisation.
• Practical experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and cloud/container-based application deployments.
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, integrating and securing REST APIs using OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, including OpenAPI documentation.
• Good understanding of web application security risks and mitigation techniques, including the OWASP Top 10.
• Strong experience with Git.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools.
• Proven practical experience working within Agile/Scrum or comparable software development methodologies.

Desirable certifications:

• Oracle Certified Professional Java Developer;
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD);
• AWS Certified Developer – Associate;
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert;
• Equivalent recognised certification relevant to the proposed technology stack.

Languages:

• English C1 (mandatory)
• French B2 (desirable)
