Embedded Software Engineer - Remote

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop and optimize low-level software for automotive IVI and cockpit systems in a mission-critical environment.

Work setup: Remote (Candidates must be based in Portugal)

Responsibilities

Design and optimize BSPs, bootloaders and Yocto distributions for Qualcomm automotive platforms

Develop kernel and driver modules for I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCIe and GPIO

Implement Android HALs and framework services, including AIDL/JNI, SELinux and Treble/VNDK

Support board bring-up, device tree configuration, and camera/display enablement

Build middleware for IPC and time synchronization across QNX, Linux and Android

Optimize boot time, power, memory, CPU and thermal performance

Improve platform security with secure boot, verified boot, key management and SELinux

Must-have Requirements

5+ years of experience in embedded software development

Strong hands-on experience in C/C++

Proven experience with Qualcomm SoCs on QNX and/or Linux and Android environments

Solid expertise in low-level development across kernel, BSP and framework layers

Experience with Yocto, BitBake, layers, recipes and BSP bring-up/integration

Experience in Android low-level development including HAL, AIDL/JNI, CTS/VTS and SELinux

Experience in driver development and device tree configuration for common peripherals

Understanding of embedded performance, power optimization and security fundamentals

Good networking knowledge including TCP/IP, Ethernet and IEEE ****/PTP

Experience with Git/Gerrit, Jenkins, adb/fastboot, perf/ftrace and debugging tools

Fluent English, both written and spoken
