Job Description

The Software Engineer Senior Consultant II is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that follow modern 12-factor app principles, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and reliability. This role is full-stack, working on both frontend and middle ware systems, with a strong emphasis on agile development practices, automation, and continuous delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development

  • Design and implement backend services using Java Spring Boot and the Spring framework.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and server-side logic.
  • Create automated tests with JUnit and Mockito.
  • Test APIs and backend functionality using Postman.
  • Utilize Spark and Scala for backend processing tasks.

Frontend Development

  • Build responsive web and single-page applications using modular JavaScript (preferred).

Engineering Practices & Tools

  • Apply test-driven development (TDD) and paired programming in all development work.
  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
  • Use GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
  • Deploy applications in PaaS and CaaS environments when possible.

Collaboration & Support

  • Participate actively in iteration planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with global team members on system and application design.
  • Provide production support for software products.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and object-oriented design.
  • Experience in backend development (Java Spring Boot, Spring framework,Spark, Scala, Mockito).
  • Experience in frontend development (responsive web, SPA, modular JavaScript).

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - 152,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
