We're looking for a Lead Product Designer to own the entire design experience at Alinea, from the pixels users touch every day to the systems and strategies that make future products possible.

This is not a "just ship screens" role. You'll be the design voice of the company, working directly with the founders to define what Alinea looks, feels, and behaves like across new financial products, AI-native features, and surfaces we haven't built yet. You'll move fast, think in systems, and care as much about how something is built as how it looks.

What you'll do

Own end-to-end product design, from early-stage concepts through polished, shipped experiences used by hundreds of thousands of people.

Design AI-native features that feel intelligent and effortless, not bolted on. You'll shape how our AI, Allie, shows up across the product: voice, behavior, interaction patterns, and trust.

Partner directly with the founders on product strategy, connecting user insight to business decisions before a single frame is drawn.

Build and steward a design system that lets engineers move fast without sacrificing quality. Coherent, scalable, and alive.

Lead design for new financial products (retirement accounts, crypto, prediction markets) from 0 to 1, at startup speed.

Use AI tools actively in your workflow to prototype faster, explore more directions, and close the gap between idea and shipped product.

Conduct sharp, focused research. Form hypotheses, test fast, and let real behavior change your mind.

Hire and grow a small design team, setting the bar for craft and velocity as the company scales.

What we're looking for

5+ years designing consumer products, with a portfolio showing range across strategy, systems, and pixel-level craft.

Technically fluent. You work directly in Figma with engineers, understand constraints, and know when to push and when to adapt.

Hands-on with AI tools (Cursor, v0, Framer AI, or similar) and genuinely excited about designing AI-powered experiences, not just designing for them.

Proven 0 to 1 builder. You've taken products to market from scratch, not just refined what exists.

Strong visual and interaction design sensibility. You have a point of view and the range to execute it.

High ownership. You define the problem, you don't wait for the brief.

Strong signals

You've shipped at a high-growth consumer app in fintech, marketplace, or social and you can show the before/after.

You've been the sole or lead designer at a startup and know what it means to build design culture from scratch.

You care about craft and you care more about impact. You know when "good enough" ships and when the detail actually matters.

You think about brand and product as one thing, not two separate tracks.
