MARKETING MANAGER · PRE-LAUNCH BRIDGE ASSIGNMENT
Fixed-Term Independent Contractor | Remote · India | Reports to: Co-Founder | Start Date: ASAP
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Aletra is building a Unified Data Security Platform for cross-border companies operating across complex privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance environments. We are in a critical pre-launch phase and need an experienced, hands-on marketing operator to help establish Aletra’s public-facing foundation before the permanent marketing function scales. This is a short, focused bridge assignment designed to move quickly, create visible market presence, and set up the next phase of marketing execution.
What exactly to do to get ahead of the competition, send your CV to: admin@aletra.ai and include:
- A short note (max 200 words) explaining: (a) why this role interests you specifically & not generically; (b) the one thing you would ship in your first 30 days that would matter most.
- Two writing samples: (a) one founder-style LinkedIn post or short essay; (b) one long-form B2B technical, regulatory, or compliance piece.
- Links to: a website launch, landing page, content engine, founder-content program, or campaign you have shipped.
- Your earliest possible start date.
Not submitting the samples automatically disqualifies you. This is not a junior role. Not an agency contract.
What you will do
Website and digital presence
- Launch Aletra's initial enterprise-grade website within the engagement window.
- Own the information architecture, page hierarchy, and buyer-facing copy.
- Coordinate with external website specialists for design and build.
- Ensure the website reflects Aletra's positioning as a serious, enterprise-grade data security and compliance platform.
- Set up site analytics, basic SEO structure, and conversion pathways.
- Ensure security and performance baselines appropriate for an enterprise audience.
Content engine and founder-led thought leadership
- Own the early content engine across founder LinkedIn content, thought-leadership posts, regulatory explainers, long-form B2B content, buyer education pieces, category positioning content, and launch-related messaging.
- Write directly. Edit founder drafts. Turn complex regulatory and technical material into clear, practitioner-grade content.
- Maintain consistent voice and quality across all surfaces.
Audience: CISOs, DPOs, Heads of Compliance, Security Engineering leaders, founders, CTOs, BFSI, SaaS, fintech, and enterprise technology buyers.
Tone: Direct. Credible. Technical enough to earn buyer trust. Practitioner-led. Never fear-based. Never superficial.
Pre-launch visibility — events, podcasts, speaking
- Identify and pursue targeted credibility-building opportunities (not broad PR).
- Secure podcasts, speaker submissions, and ecosystem appearances for both founders prior to launch.
- Maintain a practical calendar of opportunities and help the founders decide where their time is best spent.
Brand voice consistency
- Apply the locked brand voice across website, founder content, sales collateral, event descriptions, and early buyer-facing documents.
- Aletra's voice: enterprise-grade, clear, direct, practitioner-led, technically credible, compliance-aware, serious without being boring.
- Apply the brand. Do not redesign it.
Light marketing operations and handover
- Help set up basic working systems for launch: content tracker, content calendar, website update log, founder content workflow, event and podcast tracker.
- Prepare a clean handover file so the next permanent marketing hire understands what was created, what is live, what is pending, and what should happen next.
What you will work with
You will operate with tools across these categories. The specific stack will be confirmed at engagement start.
- Website / CMS: Webflow or Framer
- Productivity / docs: Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
- Content tracker: Airtable or Notion
- Outreach / prospecting: LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Apollo
- Email enrichment: Prospeo or Hunter
- Scheduling: Calendly or Chili Piper
- Analytics: Google Analytics or Plausible
- Async video: Loom or Vimeo
If you cannot operate without a specific tool not listed above, this engagement may not be a fit.
What we are looking for
Essential
- 6–8 years of B2B SaaS marketing experience.
- Experience in an early-stage startup or zero-to-one marketing environment.
- Strong writing, editing, and content judgment — practitioner tone, not agency tone.
- Experience launching or managing websites in a modern visual CMS.
- Ability to write for technical, security, compliance, or regulated-industry buyers.
- Comfort operating without heavy structure; bias for shipping visible work every week.
- Strong remote communication skills; IST working hours.
Strongly preferred (any two)
- Cybersecurity or data security domain.
- DSPM, DLP, or GRC product category.
- Privacy technology.
- Developer tools or data platforms.
- Founder ghostwriting experience.
Additional advantages
- Familiarity with DPDP Act 2023, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, CERT-In, MeitY, or DSCI.
- Experience writing for CISOs, DPOs, security teams, or compliance leaders.
- Exposure to Indian BFSI or regulated technology buying cycles.
What this engagement is not
- Not a junior or generalist role.
- Not an agency contract where deliverables are subcontracted to junior staff. A solo operator with their own Pvt Ltd or sole proprietorship is welcome; an agency assigning a juniors team is not.
- Not a strategy-deck role. The strategy is locked. This is execution.
- Not a long-term permanent position. It is a strict 3-month engagement.
- Not a brand-redesign opportunity. The brand is locked.
PERFORMANCE TRACKING AND FULL-TIME CONVERSION
This is a strict 3-month fixed-term engagement with BYOD during the 3 months engagement. You will be tracked rigorously against documented monthly KPIs. The specific KPIs and their targets are shared with you at engagement start. Performance is reviewed every week and at the end of each month by Founder against these KPIs.
Full-time conversion is not implied or guaranteed.
Full-time conversion strictly depends on project delivery and meeting KPIs. Any consideration of conversion will begin only after total project delivery at the end of the 3-month engagement, successful achievement of all monthly KPIs across all three months, and observation of long-term fit during the engagement.
If you are looking for a guaranteed pathway to a permanent role, this engagement is not the right fit. Apply only if you are confident you can meet documented KPIs on a strict monthly cadence and you are comfortable with a delivery-conditional path forward.
Aletra values originality, clarity of thought, and authentic execution.
