Akkodis is seeking a UX Research/ Product designer – 100% Remote, for a 4+ months Contract with a client in Street Fountain Valley, CA. Ideally looking for applicants with solid experience, 5+ years of UX research experience
Rate Range: $45.00 - $50.00 P/HR.; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
What you'll be doing
Work with Product Design, Industrial Design and Engineering to uncover research needs
Create and execute research for both hardware and software projects
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research focused on moving product strategy forward (emphasis on foundational, generative work)
Consult with non-researchers at HyperX on best practices to help them to implement their work. This means education, evangelisation, and empowerment!
Contribute to best practices for a healthy, lean research organisation.
Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through a variety of deliverables
What you should have
5+ years of UX research experience
Bachelor's or Master's in a human behaviour-related field (or equivalent/demonstrable work experience)
- Experience educating stakeholders about various research methods (whether novel/creative or standardised) and advocating for impactful research to be done
- Experience performing all research-related cycle tasks — including requirements gathering, planning, recruiting participants, executing, analysing, creating deliverables, forming solid product recommendations, insights workshops/post-mortems
- You are an effective communicator, concise in your reporting and able to communicate actionable insights for product, design, and marketing
- Experience working collaboratively with other researchers and partners, and bringing out the best in them
- Experience soliciting feedback on your own work and adding value to others' work
- Experience working with stakeholders and are comfortable being a strategic partner in product decisions
- Applies an intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member, providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse or design portions of user experience solutions for products and service lines based on established design principles and by design strategy, practices, and guidelines.
- Tests and gathers user experience data by established research plans and specifications; analyses, describes, and reports results to design stakeholders.
- Assesses, develops and implements portions of user experience design plans, changes, specifications, and reusable design elements for new and existing products.
- Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners on user experience design and development.
- Participates as one or more members of the project team with other user experience designers and internal and outsourced design and development partners to develop holistic, high-quality user experience solutions for low to moderately complex projects, products, and services.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Design, Human Factors Engineering, Social Sciences research, or equivalent.
- Typically 2-4 years of experience.
- Knowledge and Skills: Experience with and understanding of design principles, theories, and concepts.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding and experience in implementing and creating research and data collection plans for user experience testing and acceptance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery of English and local language.
- Ability to effectively communicate user experience data, design proposals and product specifications and negotiate options.
