As a Software Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Creating new features, enhancing existing features and optimizing functionality, from conception and design to testing and deployment
• Writing reliable, efficient, secure, and scalable code
• Collaborating with architects and engineering teams to understand their needs and build solutions to address their requirements
• Working with UX engineers to develop rich UIs that increases understanding and adopt-ability of the system throughout
• Working on projects that make our network more stable, faster, and more secure
• Partnering with development/QA teams to come up with regression tests that cover new changes to our software

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Possess excellent back-end development skills and hands-on experience with Java, frameworks similar to Spring and have proven experience designing data structures
• Have expertise developing web applications or data pipelines in Java and experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Be familiar with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and have relevant experience with Angular or a leading JavaScript framework
• Have proven experience designing data structures
• Have excellent communications skills
• Demonstrate experience building scalable servers or distributed systems

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $106,600 - $221,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
