Our team develops and sells Akamai's carrier network security products to fixed and mobile network service providers. We specialize in delivering highly scalable network infrastructure and access-based security products to our customers. We collaborate with product groups, external partners to enable our customers to provide high-quality, secure internet and network access to their end-users.

Develop secure, reliable and maintainable code

As Software Engineer.Senior II, you'll develop software that runs one of the largest distributed-systems in the world. You will play a key role in our growth strategy. You'll be creating innovative solutions for our network challenges and clients, with the aim of increasing internet traffic and making it faster, more reliable and secure.

As a Software Engineer Senior II, you will be responsible for:

• Collaborating with other software engineering teams to influence and shape the design process and product development
• Creating and enhancing new features and functionality, including conception, design, testing and deployment
• Being the subject matter and team expert, leading and mentoring others to optimize their productivity
• Working with internal teams to troubleshoot complex problems in our network for our customers

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience of software development life cycles and writing code in Golang/C/C++ within a Unix/Linux environment
• Have understanding of how internet and it's networks/protocols (IP, DNS, routing, HTTP, TCP or web architecture) works
• Demonstrate a keen interest in learning new technologies
• Have ownership on product development and enhancement
• Be a natural communicator with an interest in mentoring others using your subject matter expertise
• Have experience in cloud platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure etc
• Be adept on Cloud native constructs and deployments
