Position Overview:
Aivirtrix is seeking a skilled Project Geotechnical Design Engineer to join our GeoStructures team. This individual will focus on the design and analysis of retaining walls, deep foundations, soil nail walls, excavation support systems, ground improvement systems, and other complex geotechnical structures. In addition to technical work, the role offers opportunities in project management, field oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform geotechnical analysis and design for foundations, soil improvement, embankments, retaining walls, shoring systems, etc.
· Analyze slope stability, bearing capacity, lateral resistance, settlement, and seepage.
· Supervise geotechnical field investigations and site characterization.
· Prepare engineering reports, design documentation, construction drawings, specifications, and permit applications.
· Contribute to project/task management and assist in proposal development.
· Ensure quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) during construction with occasional site visits.
· Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals.
· Continuously improve skills through professional development.
· Effectively use remote collaboration tools for internal and external communication.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
· P.E. (Professional Engineer) License required.
· 4+ years of geotechnical experience, including analysis and design deliverables.
· Proficiency with geotechnical tools such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, LPILE, AutoCAD, and MSE wall design software.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and report writing skills.
· Field experience and construction site familiarity.
· Self-driven with the ability to manage priorities independently and in teams.
· Excellent communication and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master’s or higher degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
Work Schedule:
· Full-time | Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
· Occasional weekend, holiday, or overtime work may be required.
Travel Requirements:
· Must be willing to travel occasionally for field assignments or client meetings.
