We’re looking for an Android Engineer to join our team at AirHub and help us build mission-critical systems for drones that support in emergency response operations.
Our mission
Do you want to use your programming skills to save lives? At Airhub, you actually can.
First responders save lives every day, but they often lack the right technology to do it as effectively as possible. When someone goes missing at sea, when wildfires spread rapidly, or when emergencies unfold — every second counts. At Airhub, we believe that cutting-edge drone technology can be the difference between life and death.
We are a pioneering Dutch software company on a mission to empower first responders with advanced drone solutions, enhancing their ability to protect lives and ensure public safety.
Our Drone Operations Center enables seamless mission planning, real-time flight control, live video streaming, and AI-powered object detection, all while ensuring full aviation compliance.
If you’re passionate about building technology that truly makes a difference, Airhub is the place for you.
Our team
Currently Airhub counts 19 employees of which 9 are part of the dev team. It’s a remote first start-up environment with a tight-knit group of engineers who care deeply about the impact of our work. Aside from the interesting technical challenges and the positive impact on society, the domain that we work in is a lot of fun. We actually have team outings where we take big ass drones with camera gimbals on them with us and fly missions with them!
You will be joining a cross-functional product team consisting of Software Engineers, a Tester and a Product Owner. We are looking for ambitious engineers that want to work on complex problems, challenge the status quo, build innovative solutions and are as passionate as we are about the product we’re building!
Our Product
At the heart of our platform is the Drone Operations Center — a web-based interface where users can plan and manage missions, control active flights, view real-time video streams, and share those streams with multiple stakeholders, such as emergency teams on the ground. From planning and execution to logging, all in one place. Key features include remote drone fleet control, live video streaming, AI-powered object detection, and support for fully autonomous flights. Next to the web app we also have an Android app, designed to run on drone remote controllers. This mobile component allows pilots to directly control flights and stream data in real time to our platform.
