Backend Software Engineer(contract)

As a Backend Engineer on the AirCover Tech team, you’ll be a key contributor in shaping and building experiences for AirCover for Hosts, which ensures hosts receive best-in-class support when their bookings don’t go as planned.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product, Operations, and Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products
Build efficient and reusable backend components and architect reliable, performant, and scalable solutions
Identify areas of improvement and drive best practices

Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant software development industry experience
Proficiency in one or more backend languages and frameworks, particularly Kotlin and/or Java
Strong understanding of microservices and Kubernetes with experience working on APIs and end-to-end development from developing to testing
Exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale system/product, such as well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, distributed systems, and efficient algorithms
Willingness to work across the backend stack to address technical challenges anywhere in the system
Excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm to participate in team meetings, working sessions, and code reviews
US time zone needed open to all locations
