Senior Engineer (ENG)

NOTE - This is a part time role initially with equity only payment structure prior to funding raised by company.

Position Overview

We are seeking a visionary Senior Engineer (“ENG”) to work closely with our Vice President of Engineering (the “VP”) and the Senior Executive Management Team (the “SET”) and the

eventual Head of AI/Chief Data Scientist and possible Co-Founder (the “CF”) to advance and lead on our technology strategy and development efforts. As a core member of our team, the ENG will play a crucial role by building a groundbreaking AI-powered health and fitness app. This role requires a unique blend of technical prowess, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of product development. The ENG will collaborate closely with the VP, the SET and the CF, and other key stakeholders to bring our innovative app to market.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Vision and Leadership: Help the VP and the SET team define and lead the company's technology strategy to support our business goals. Stay abreast of new trends and technologies in the AI, health, and fitness industries.

Front-End Development: Lead React Native mobile app development, ensuring a seamless and high-performing user experience. Architect, design, and implement front-end features, focusing on UI/UX best practices, accessibility, and performance optimization. Work with designers and product teams to translate wireframes and prototypes into responsive, pixel-perfect, interactive user interfaces. Implement animations, transitions, and user interactions that enhance engagement.

Product Development: Oversee the backend development of our mobile app using React Native, Node.js, and Python, coding and managing and taking a “no engineering job is beneath me”

attitude to the work that you are doing. To the extent possible, strive with the team to ensure that the product is scalable, secure, and provides an exceptional user experience.

Team Building and Management: Build and lead a high-performing backend development

technology team. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

AI and Data Strategy: Work closely with the VP, the SET, and the CF, to integrate advanced AI,

LLMs, ML, NLP, and data science technologies into our product offerings for personalized health and fitness coaching.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure

technology alignment with business needs. Collaborate with the VP, CF and SET to align the technical and non-technical teams.

Operational Excellence: Help oversee the technology infrastructure to ensure reliability, efficiency, and security. Implement best practices for software development and data

management.

Qualifications

·      Proven experience as a ENG, CTO, technical co-founder, or in a similar leadership role in a tech startup environment.

·      5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on front-end development.

·      Proven expertise in mobile app development, React Native, React.js, and modern front-end frameworks.

·      Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, Redux, Context API, and React Hooks.

·      Experience integrating RESTful APIs and WebSockets for real-time updates.

·      Knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles, animations, and accessibility standards.

·      Some experience in backend technologies (Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, Firebase, AWS, or Google Cloud).

·      Some experience with AI, LLMs, ML, NLP, and data science technologies.

·      Strong understanding of version control (Git, GitHub/GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.

·      Where needed, help the Company fill in gaps on the bank  end dev front or elsewhere by helping the Company recruit such talent while maintaining a reasonable cap table and negotiating the need to raise capital before paying cash (help minimize burn in collaboration with the lean team)

·      Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a technology team.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·      Strong problem-solving skills and a visionary approach to technology and product development.

·      Experience in gamification, health, or blockchain technologies is a bonus.

Our clients Offer:

  • This is a part time role initially with equity only payment structure prior to funding raised by company.
  • Substantial equity stake reflecting your early-stage joining of the company and early-stage risk, with monetary compensation tied to gross revenue or capital raising milestones.
  • At $10,000,000 or more achieved in GR or capital raised, the base for this position will be $100,000 - $150,000 a year and up. At lower levels is will be above market averages for companies at similar levels of funding.
