About The Role

The Senior Graphic Design Lead / Creative Director at VG Systems is a pivotal role responsible for guiding and overseeing the development of compelling visual communication strategies that align with organizational goals and mission objectives. This leadership position involves managing multi-disciplinary design teams across different geographic locations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality creative outputs. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in graphic design leadership, innovative concept development, and multi-media production. They will be tasked with translating strategic messaging into visually impactful designs, maintaining consistency and quality across all deliverables, and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creative excellence. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, provide clear direction, and uphold the highest standards of visual communication.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess an active Top Secret security clearance at the time of hire, demonstrating trustworthiness and reliability. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related discipline is required, coupled with at least 10 years of relevant experience leading creative teams and managing high-visibility projects across multiple locations. Candidates with a high school diploma and extensive related experience—specifically, 20 years in creative graphic design leadership—may also be considered. Proficiency in graphic design principles, tools, and emerging technologies is essential. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills are critical to succeed in this role. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, coupled with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality, are key attributes for this position.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the work of graphic design and production staff across multiple geographic locations, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and project objectives.
• Plan and implement coordinated design concepts that meet project requirements, agency communication strategies, and PWS (Performance Work Statement) specifications.
• Determine the appropriate equipment, tools, materials, and techniques necessary for effective design execution, staying current with technological advancements.
• Apply advanced knowledge of graphic design techniques, styles, and technologies to produce high-quality visual products that meet strategic objectives.
• Translate agency strategic communication goals into visually compelling concepts across various media formats, including digital, print, and multimedia.
• Develop and present original creative concepts to leadership, incorporating feedback and securing approval for execution.
• Provide detailed creative direction and guidance to design teams, ensuring successful implementation and adherence to project timelines and standards.
• Maintain consistency, quality, and visual impact across all design deliverables, fostering brand integrity and message clarity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine messaging and visual storytelling approaches, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Create, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to graphic design processes, workflows, and standards.
• Document design processes and provide ongoing guidance to team members to ensure compliance with established procedures and quality standards.
