We seek a Senior Software Engineer for a 6+ month contract, with the potential for extension. This role is fully remote, and given the sensitive nature of the work, candidates are required to have U.S. citizenship. You will contribute to critical software enhancements, data migrations, and the development of new application screens for a proprietary platform.

Your Job

You will play a key role in delivering software enhancements, managing data migrations, and creating new UI screens to meet client contract specifications. Leveraging your expertise in web application development, you will work on a proprietary Perl-based codebase with an Oracle 19c data layer. You will collaborate within an Agile team to create reusable UI components and integrate them with RESTful APIs while utilizing modern CICD tools and AWS technologies to optimize deployments.

The Work

Enhance and maintain a proprietary Perl-based application codebase.

Develop, test, and optimize database objects, triggers, and PL/SQL scripts within Oracle 19c.

Design and implement new user interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Build and integrate reusable UI components with RESTful APIs.

Participate in data migration processes, ensuring data integrity and seamless transitions.

Leverage CICD tools such as Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and GitLab to streamline deployments.

Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to meet project deliverables and deadlines.

Work with AWS technologies (SNS, SQS, S3, RDS) to support scalable, cloud-based solutions.

Troubleshoot and debug Unix/Linux environments to resolve application issues.

Ensure code quality through peer reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in web application development with measurable impact on project success.
Demonstrated ability to build reusable UI components and integrate them with RESTful APIs.
Hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Proficiency in database development, including creating and optimizing PL/SQL scripts, triggers, and objects in Oracle RDBMS.
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a Unix/Linux environment.
Proven track record of delivering results in Agile development environments.
Familiarity with CICD pipelines and tools like Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and GitLab.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
