Role: Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer
6 to 12 Months Fixed term full time Employment
Poland/ Romania (Remote)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain Guidewire PolicyCenter applications, including product model, PCF screens, business rules, workflows, data model extensions, batch processes, and plugins
- Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical designs and scalable PolicyCenter solutions
- Develop and support integrations with internal and external systems using REST/SOAP web services, messaging frameworks, XML/JSON, and Guidewire integration patterns
- Configure policy lifecycle processes including submission, quote, bind, issue, renewal, cancellation, reinstatement, endorsement, and underwriting workflows
- Perform impact analysis, coding, unit testing, debugging, defect resolution, peer code reviews, and technical documentation
- Support Guidewire upgrades, cloud migration initiatives, deployment activities, and environment stabilization
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, DevOps, and product teams in Agile delivery models
- Mentor junior developers and promote Guidewire development best practices, reusable components, performance optimization, and coding standards
- Troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, identify root causes, and implement timely fixes or enhancements
Required Skills and Experience
- 6–10+ years of overall IT experience, with strong hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration and/or integration development
- Strong expertise in Gosu programming, Guidewire Studio, PCF configuration, rules, workflows, product model, data model, plugins, and batch processing
- Hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations, enhancements, upgrades, or production support
- Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE concepts, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and enterprise application development
- Experience developing integrations using REST APIs, SOAP services, messaging queues, XML, JSON, and related middleware or integration frameworks
- Good understanding of relational databases and SQL, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent platforms
- Experience with Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance concepts, policy lifecycle, underwriting, rating, billing, claims integration, and regulatory-driven changes
- Experience working with personal, commercial, specialty, or multi-line insurance products is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Guidewire PolicyCenter certification or Guidewire Associate certification
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform, Advanced Product Designer, Rating Engine, Integration Gateway, App Events, or Cloud APIs
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, cloud deployments, monitoring, and DevOps practices
- Experience leading small development teams, conducting design reviews, and mentoring developers
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may also be considered
