SENIOR C#/.NET ENGINEER – Own the Architecture & Build the Hard Stuff in a leading INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT Company – REMOTE, R1.5m – R1.8m

This is an excellent opportunity for a SENIOR DEVELOPER (C#/,Net) to join a leading WEALTH & INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT FIRM – and to gain experience owning the architecture and building the hard stuff in a fast-paced GLOBAL WEALTH MANAGEMENT FIRM.

Offering 100% REMOTE WORK - but you MUST be living in SOUTH AFRICA - this SENIOR DEVELOPER (C#/.NET) role offers a salary of R1.5m – R1.8m.

They're investing in their engineering capability and need an accomplished SENIOR C#/.NET DEVELOPER who enjoys solving difficult problems, influencing architecture and taking real ownership of what they build.

And importantly, this is a HANDS-ON engineering opportunity. Not a stepping stone into people management.

THE ROLE:

You'll get involved in the interesting stuff:

• Architecture that matters. Help shape the design and evolution of complex backend systems, not simply implement someone else's technical decisions.
• Challenging engineering problems. Work on distributed applications, microservices, asynchronous processing and integrations where performance, reliability and security are critical.
• Proper end-to-end ownership. From technical design and development through testing, deployment and production.
• Modern cloud engineering. Work with Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD and infrastructure automation to develop and deliver scalable services.
• Real technical influence. Work alongside experienced engineers, challenge existing approaches, improve engineering practices and help shape how solutions are built.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

I’m looking for a genuinely strong software engineer with 8+ years of commercial backend development experience, including:

• Deep expertise in C#, .NET Core and modern .NET (6+).
• Strong software design, architecture and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices and asynchronous systems.
• Solid experience with Azure, Kubernetes and DevOps.
• Hands-on CI/CD, automated deployments and infrastructure-as-code.
• The confidence to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
• Experience with SQL Server, messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, and financial services would be particularly useful.
