Senior Software Engineer with C++/ Linux Trading Experience

A Chicago-based Trading firm is looking to hire a Senior C++/Linux engineer with Low-Latency Trading experience. This role will be joining an existing team as a senior software engineer , building new components for their software solution. You will also be working with Python and Kafka for real-time data streaming. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, with at least 5 years of Software Development experience and recent experience with C++. Python and Kafka experience will be nice to have, but not a hard requirement. The key is experience building software and experience working with FIX or integrations with trading exchanges. You should excel in working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
• Develop and support software, including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
• Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure the project meets business objectives and compliance standards
• Support test and deployment of new products and features
• Participate in code reviews

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• Prior experience working on trading or clearing applications
• 3+ years of experience with C++/Linux
• 1 year of Python or the ability to pick-up new languages quickly
• Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Multi-threaded application
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies will be a plus
• FIX, SGX or TCP/ UDP

Compensation:

• 130-160K

This role is ideally looking for someone local to Chicago but will consider someone fully remote. The company is unable to sponsor or provide a visa transfer at this time. This is a full-time direct hire role and cannot support C2C.
