Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Description

Our customer is a German IT service provider specializing in cloud infrastructure and digital solutions for cooperative banks. We support them by developing and optimizing DevOps platforms, enhancing CI/CD automation, managing Kubernetes and OpenShift environments, and improving the security and stability of their systems.

Responsibilities

• Optimizing CI/CD Pipelines: Streamline deployment workflows by designing and implementing Jenkins pipelines and OpenShift CI/CD processes, enhancing automation and efficiency.

• Ensuring Scalable Infrastructure: Manage and optimize Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability, security, and performance to support business-critical applications.

• Enhancing System Observability: Implement Dynatrace monitoring, log analysis, and automated alerts to proactively detect and resolve performance issues, improving system reliability.

• Strengthening Security & Compliance: Enforce best practices in infrastructure security, including SSL/TLS certificate management and access control, ensuring adherence to industry standards.

• Supporting Incident & Release Management: Work closely with developers and operations teams to facilitate smooth, secure, and reliable software releases, minimizing downtime and disruptions.

• Fostering Collaboration & Mentorship: Act as a technical mentor for mid-level engineers, promoting knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement, and best practices in cloud infrastructure and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes (OpenShift preferred) and container orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab CI, ArgoCD (Groovy scripting a plus).
• Knowledge of Dynatrace or similar monitoring and observability tools.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Good understanding of Linux system administration and networking.
• Familiarity with security best practices in a DevOps environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required.
