💥 Embedded Software Engineer — Edge AI Firmware 💥
An early, well-funded edge-to-cloud compute company is building next-gen inference hardware and software. Small team, big scope, and you’ll ship core firmware that brings new silicon to life. Hiring across the U.S., Canada, Germany, and Norway.
What you’ll do:
- Design and build core firmware that deploys inference workloads on custom AI processors.
- Validate SoC IP blocks and bring-up boards with low-level debug and test flows.
- Integrate third-party device drivers into the internal software stack.
- Partner with runtime, hardware, and architecture teams to define driver and firmware interfaces.
- Measure, analyze, and tune system performance on real workloads.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong C/C++ for OS, kernel, and systems programming.
- Solid grasp of computer architecture and OS concepts: memory management, scheduling, interrupts, concurrency.
- Hands-on with PCIe (incl. BAR/IOMMU) and device driver development.
- Experience with virtualization or hypervisors.
- Comfortable with emulators/simulators and low-level debug tools.
- Deep understanding of x86-64 and accelerator/SoC architectures.
- Clear communicator who can work across firmware, runtime, and hardware teams.
- Bachelor’s in EE/CS or similar.
Nice to have:
- RISC-V familiarity.
- Performance benchmarking at the system level.
- Prior edge/accelerator or high-throughput data path experience.
Location and setup:
- Full-time in the U.S., Canada, Germany, or Norway.
- On-site or hybrid depending on office and team.
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary plus meaningful equity. Final package depends on location and experience, with a rough guide being $200-280k base + equity.
